XDAII Pdaphone
 | It's kind a funny how I had to buy this pdaphone. |
 | It all started when I accidentally dropped my office mobile phone, a Nokia
3310, into the bathtub that was filled with water. |
 | That spoilt it and my boss lent me another phone, a Nokia
8910, which I checked cost around RM2,500! |
 | However, this phone was borrowed from a vendor, so my boss asked me to
return it after a few months use. |
 | This was my cue to purchase a brand, new phone. So, I decided to get
the most expensive pdaphone available: The O2
XDAII. |
 | The XDAII retailed at RM3,488 and it was very difficult to get a
discount; apparently O2 controlled its pricing in Malaysia. |
 | I got my boss to help me by contacting the distributor, and I managed
to bargain it down to RM3,300. TNB also gives a rebate of RM400 off
mobile phone purchases, so I'm pretty happy. |

 | The XDAII has the following basic specifications: -
 | Intel Xscale PXA 263, 400MHz |
 | 128 MB SDRAM, 64 MB ROM |
 | 3.5" Transflective 65,536 colour LCD (240 x 320 pixels) |
 | VGA Camera for still with video and audio capture |
 | Integrated personal digital organiser and Tri-band mobile phone
with GPRS support |
 | Built-in Bluetooth and Infrared port |
 | SDIO memory slot |
|
 | My favourite software add-ons for my XDAII include: -
|
 | My last PDA was the Casio E-10. What a
huge leap forward I've made. |
 | So far, I'm very satisfied with my new toy. I'm much more organised
thanks to it! |

[UPDATE - 14/8/2004] I
purchased via the Internet - a Javoedge
Clearcase
casing. It costs me US$33 (RM125) including shipping charges. |
